The Mathews County Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors will hold a joint public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the historic courthouse on a request for a conditional use permit to operate a temporary reception facility at 1325 Bellevue Road in Susan.
Applicants Erin Rook and Audell Narron plan to offer the site for small weddings, receptions and family reunions, according to a report by Planning, Zoning and Wetlands Director John Shaw. The property is owned by Frank and Virginia Trant and is zoned waterfront residential, said the report. Such uses are permitted there with a conditional use permit.
Shaw is recommending that the commission support approval of the permit on condition that they limit hours and months of operation to Friday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. April through October. Other conditions include lighting, entrance and parking requirements, and compliance with Health Department regulations.
