Planners to consider Hayes shopping center rezoning tonight

The Gloucester County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing tonight on a rezoning request for a portion of the York River Crossing Shopping Center, Hayes.

The meeting begins at 7:30 in the colonial courthouse, with the public hearing slated to start 15 minutes later.

Applicant Billie M. Millner, for property owner Hayes Development Co., L.L.C., has applied to rezone that portion of the shopping center from B-3 (Office Business) to B-1 (Business). Most of the center is already zoned B-1.

A staff report said that the application has sought the rezoning to "align this parcel’s zoning with the rest of the shopping center." The request is to "bring it into conformity with how it has been used since it was initially developed."
