The Mathews County Board of Supervisors and the Mathews County Planning Commission will hold a joint public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the historic courthouse on Court Street.

Under consideration will be a request by Scott Z. Edmonds, contract purchaser of U-Storit at 2384 East River Road, Cardinal, to allow the use of one additional building for five self-storage units. The property is zoned B-2.

According to a report by Mathews County Planning and Zoning, the units would be constructed in an existing storage building within the existing footprint.

After the public hearing, the board of supervisors will adjourn and the planning commission will continue its regular meeting, discussing a recurrent flooding study and the upcoming comprehensive plan review. ...
