Planners recommend denial of Fox Centre Parkway rezoning

The Gloucester County Planning Commission voted to recommend denial of a rezoning request that would allow 427 residential units along Fox Centre Parkway during a meeting last Thursday evening in the T.C. Walker Education Center auditorium.
The property owner is Evergreen Development Company, LLC, the applicant is Robert Kubicki and the developer is D.R. Horton. They requested to rezone 130.8 acres of undeveloped, wooded land along Fox Mill Centre Parkway from Rural Countryside (RC-1) and General Business (B-1) to Planned Unit Development (PUD-1).
The rezoning would allow for the construction of 214 townhouse units and 213 single-family units, for a total of 427 units, on the undeveloped land through a planned unit development.
Existing surrounding land uses include Fox Mill Centre (which includes TJ Maxx, Ulta Beauty, Petco and others), vacant and wooded undeveloped land, various businesses along Route 17 South, and residential property. Walmart is also close to the property.
