Planners forward comp plan to supervisors

The Gloucester Planning Commission has recommended that a revised comprehensive plan be forwarded to the county supervisors for approval and include several last-minute changes to be made by planning staff.

No one from the public spoke during a scheduled public hearing in the colonial courthouse during the commission’s Dec. 3 meeting. However, planner Sean McNash said that approximately 150 responses had been received to a recent online planning survey that was available to residents for about one month.

Last-minute changes will include adding a summary of the recent survey results to the appendix of the plan, McNash said, as well as a few minor changes to the economic development section of the plan.

The plan will now be discussed by the supervisors and that board will schedule its own hearing on the matter this winter.
