Planners endorse rezoning at Coleman’s Crossing

The Gloucester County Planning Commission has given its approval to a proposed rezoning at Coleman’s Crossing at Hayes. The matter now moves on to the board of supervisors, which will have the final say on the request.

Applicants Zandler Coleman’s Crossing, LLC, and The Shoppes at Coleman’s Crossing, LLC, seek to modify the limits of the multi-family (MF-1) and B-2 (business) zoning districts within the property, located north of Crewe Road and west of Route 17.

The applicants want to develop an additional eight townhouse units on property originally planned for business use. The matter was considered by planners at last Thursday’s monthly meeting, which was held in the colonial courthouse.

Charles Records, a principal in Zandler, said that the developers still expect 8-10 businesses to open at the project. These may include a restaurant, shops and professional offices, he said.
