Planners back rezoning application

The Gloucester County Planning Commission recommended approval of the lone rezoning application it considered last Thursday night.

During a meeting in the colonial courthouse, the commission raised no objections to the application of David and Betty DeAlba, property owners, who want to rezone approximately 16.8 acres on Adams Creek View Lane, located north of Island Road in the Petsworth Magisterial District.

Planner Sean McNash said the property has had traditional uses of single-family residential and agricultural. In 2011, a fire destroyed a permanent residence on the property, McNash said in his staff report, and the DeAlbas want to place a manufactured home where that house had been located and continue agricultural uses there.
