Planners back condo project at Gloucester Point

The Gloucester County Planning Commission endorsed a rezoning application that would allow construction of 50 condominium units at Gloucester Point, during a meeting last Thursday night.

 

Applicant Moody Homes Holdings Corporation plans to build the condo project on an 11-acre site located in the Gloucester Point Magisterial District on the west side of George Washington Memorial Highway (Route 17), across from Gloucester Point Shopping Center.

 

Tim Moody, who heads the Virginia Beach company, said after the public hearing that he hopes the first units at York River Villas might be available for occupancy this summer.

 

Moody Homes applied to amend the Gloucester County zoning map to reclassify the site from MF-1 conditional (Medium-density multi-family residential) to a similar zoning designation that would allow switching the format of the project.
