Clinicians at Pivot Physical Therapy are offering the Functional Evaluation for Seniors (FES), a tool for identifying strengths and deficits of older patients that provides a baseline fitness level.
The assessment consists of 16 tests that examine posture, flexibility, balance, endurance and strength and compares an individual’s performance to the benchmarked values that have been established for men and women between the ages of 60-90.
Results help physical therapists initiate or modify individualized exercise programs that may help a client or patient over age 60 maintain independence and keep from having a fall, a release said
