Gloucester High School remains the only public site in the area to play the increasingly popular sport of pickleball. One participant said players from Gloucester and Mathews are quite active, and that one day last week, there were 20 people playing and drilling. Saturday was a brisk, cool, beautiful morning for those who gathered. Among those getting in some game time recently were, from left, Cheryl Woodward, Gary O’Neil, Keith Scudder, Lanell Jarvis, Jill Smith and Joanne Fary.
