Three students of Rodgers Voice and Piano Studio participated in the Peninsula Music Teachers Association’s Piano Olympics held Nov. 13 at First Baptist Church in Newport News. They were, from left, Jackson Scalf, Jackson Neuwirth and Wyatt Williams. Scalf received gold ribbons in all seven events entered and a gold medal, Neuwirth received gold ribbons in all three events entered and Williams received gold ribbons in all five events entered and a gold medal. The Olympics focus on performance of technique, including playing scales, chords, cadences and arpeggios.
