The Piankatank Ruritan Club, in Hudgins, awarded two college scholarships at its July dinner meeting. Both recipients are 2021 graduates of Mathews High School. Jackson Putt was awarded $1,000 and will attend James Madison University to pursue a teaching degree. Brittany Ottarson was awarded $500 and will be attending Rappahannock Community College to study for a degree in nursing.
