Phonographic entertainment to benefit a church

There will be a phonographic entertainment at the Court House to benefit Central Church on Tuesday night next. Mr. G.S. Marchant will be there with his Grand Concert Phonograph and 198 of the latest records. There are all sort of pieces in the program—sacred, sentimental and comic, besides a large number of duets, quartets, sextets and speaking pieces. Don’t miss it, as it will be the finest phonographic entertainment to have ever taken place in the county. Refreshments will be served.

The home of Mrs. James L. Hudgins at Diggs was the scene of a slight fire on Sunday morning. The fire was caused by a defective flue in the kitchen chimney. The bucket brigade put in their appearance and the fire was put out in a short time. The damage was slight.
