Peter Brewer & Friends will be playing at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Gloucester Brewing Company. This performance is free and open to the public.

Brewer (saxophone), a 1985 graduate of Gloucester High School, earned his Doctoral of Musical Arts degree from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music in 2009 and joined Barry University in 2010 as an Associate Professor of Music.

Brewer maintains an active performance schedule in Miami and nationwide/worldwide performing with the Miami Jazz Consort (as leader); The Marleys; The O’Jays; K.C. and the Sunshine Band; Paul Anka; Diane Schuur; Dr. Ed Calle and the Mamblue Orchestra; Glenn Miller Orchestra; Artie Shaw Big Band; Xavier Cugat Orchestra; The Mavericks, and many others.

He also led his own 12-piece Jazz and Rhythm and Blues Orchestra in Mallorca Spain, from 1993-2000.
