Pet Zone, LLC, a pet store featuring exotic pets and pet supplies, is set to open at the end of the month in the Shoppes at Gloucester. Manager Tony Lee, a Gloucester native and 1988 graduate, runs another Pet Zone in Yorktown, which opened in 2017 and is excited to expand his business and bring it back home.

According to Lee, the store across the river has become a success and there were cries from his customers, many of whom live on the Middle Peninsula, to open a store closer to them. “I always wanted to work my way back home and I’ve always been into animals,” Lee said.

He said the business prides itself in backing all of the animals it sells, as well as the supplies that fill its shelves. Lee said the store carries only foods that he would feed to his own pets, and added that if the customer is looking for something specific that isn’t in the store, he will work with them to find and obtain the product.
