The Gloucester School Board made several personnel appointments for the 2021-2022 school year during its June 23 work session.

The board appointed James Rieflin of Salem as its new director of information technology, with a start date to be determined. The board also appointed Kelley Gray of Newport News as the new principal at Achilles Elementary, effective July 6, and Alexis Foster of Mathews as an assistant principal at Gloucester High School, effective July 1.Appointed to elementary school teaching positions were William Rousseau of Gloucester, Emma Saunders of Yorktown, and Caitlin Minton of Glen Allen, all effective Aug. 16.

Appointed to support services positions were Melissa Foster, Karen Gregory, Danielle Rusk, Christine Wisley and Peggy Register, all of Gloucester; and Alexandria Hickman, Tara Johnson and Elizabeth Polk, all of Hayes.
