Personnel appointments approved in Gloucester

The Gloucester School Board made several personnel appointments during its budget work session held last Thursday at the T.C. Walker Education Center auditorium.

Kelly Saunders of Williamsburg, was appointed to a paraprofessional position in the library at Abingdon Elementary School, effective March 14; Sara Stratton of Hayes, was appointed to a paraprofessional position at Abingdon, effective March 21; Karen Yarley of Gloucester was appointed to a bookkeeper position at Peasley Middle School, effective March 28; Shelby Kellar of Jamaica, was appointed to a paraprofessional position at Gloucester High School, effective March 28; and Brian Atkinson of Gloucester, was appointed to a bus driver position, effective April 1.

Substitute appointments include the following: Dwan Bryant was appointed to a substitute teacher position, effective March 8; Elizabeth Jessie was appointed to a substitute teacher position, effective March 10; Timberlee Savage was appointed to a substitute cafeteria worker position, effective March 10; and Crystal Mikkelson was appointed to a substitute cafeteria worker position, effective March 17.

Judith Green was appointed to be a homebound teacher, effective March 1.

Separations

The board also approved of several resignations and retirements at the meeting. Leonne Arsenovic retired from a reading specialist position at Bethel Elementary School, effective July 1 and Douglas Hurd retired from a custodian position at GHS, effective March 31.

Timberlee Savage resigned from a cafeteria worker position at Page Middle School, effective March 9; Kameryn Pritchett resigned from a special education teacher position at Bethel, effective July 1; Jennipher Mancil resigned from a special education teacher position at GHS, effective July 1; Heather Hagberg resigned from a special education teacher position at Bethel, effective July 1; James Cook resigned as wrestling coach at GHS, effective Feb. 22; Felicia Haase resigned from a custodian position at Bethel, effective March 1; Abigail Moore retired from a kindergarten teacher position at Petsworth, effective July 1; and Theresa Till retired from a special education teacher position at Abingdon, effective July 1.
