Personnel appointed at Gloucester schools

The Gloucester School Board appointed Carolyn Smith of Gloucester as a part-time gifted assessment specialist during its March 14 meeting. 

The board also appointed Jason Hamill of Hayes as a teacher assistant and Thomas Lindemann of Gloucester and Charity Ungard of Port Haywood as support services employees. 

Resignations were accepted from Abingdon Elementary special education teacher Stacie Albright and Peasley Middle School special education teacher Kelly Powley, both effective at the end of the 2016-2017 contract year. 

Resignations were also accepted from support employee Lynn Beachy, effective March 8, and Gloucester High School security officer Gideon Mooring Jr., effective March 13. 

The board additionally approved retirement for support employees Barbara Hogge, effective Jan. 2; Wanda Hudgins, effective May 1; and Barbara Owens, effective July 1.  ...
