Personnel actions approved by Gloucester board

Catrona Hill-Charity of Laneview was appointed as the video production teacher at Gloucester High School in personnel actions taken by the Gloucester School Board during its April 23 work session. The appointment is effective Monday.

Also, Mitchell Cox of Durham, N.C., and Corinne Lanning and John Scalf, both of Gloucester, were appointed to teaching positions at GHS for the 2013-2014 school year. Travis Burns, who was the interim principal at Page Middle School, was appointed as the principal at Page effective April 24.

 

In addition, the board accepted resignations from Bethel Elementary occupational therapist Ruth Morrison, effective July 1, and from Abingdon Elementary teacher Amber Gibbs and Botetourt Elementary teacher Katherine Hawthorne, both effective at the end of the school year.

Retirement was approved for GHS activities director Jon Hatch and GHS Latin teacher Shirley Ryan, both effective July 1.
