Permillia Ann Hurd, 85, of Hampton, Virginia, died peacefully at home on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Born on October 28, 1939, she was a lifelong Peninsula resident.
She was a 1958 graduate of Hampton High School; retired from the City of Hampton Police Department as a dispatcher; and was a longtime member of Fox Hill Road Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her parents Morris Henry Smith, Sr. and Nettie Kemp Smith, she leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 67 years, Leon Hurd; her son, Lee Hurd (Jo) of Gloucester, Va.; and daughter, Marie Williams (Joe) of Middlesex County, Va.; her grandchildren, Chris Hurd (Heather) and Stephanie Conley (Sophie); great-grandchildren, Shelby, Daniel, Hailey, Michael, and Alex; brothers, Dr. Morris H. Smith Jr. and Charles Thomas Smith, as well as special people in her life, Brenda Small, Victoria and Sammy Larned.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to all of her caregivers.
