Performances Friday, Saturday at Flat Iron Crossroads

Soul/blues guitarist Reggie King Sears will perform at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Flat Iron Crossroads in Gloucester as part of a national tour to promote his new album. The six-piece tribute band Grateful Jed will perform on Saturday, beginning at 6:30.

Sears has been playing since he was a child prodigy in a low-income area of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Now, at the age of 30, he began touring the “Chitin Circuit” almost 20 years ago, said a press release, performing 250 nights a year in urban bars, festivals and nightclubs. His mentors were the likes of Solomon Burke, Bobby Rush and Marvin Sease. He has won multiple awards and has done sessions as both a musician and producer with numerous Hip Hop superstars.Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with food from AR Smokehouse and beverages from the FIX Bar.
