In an effort to increase attendance this school year, Abingdon Elementary School has been holding random “PEP Days.” A PEP Day celebrates students for being “Present,” “Excited” and “Pawsitive.” The two PEP Days that have been held this year have included bubbles and music upon arrival, coupons and snacks for car loop families, a glow party in the cafeteria with drawings for prizes, and the reward of work-free blocks at the end of the day. Students never know when another PEP Day will be, so it serves as an incentive for students to attend school each day.
