Penny Renee Ange of Toano, formerly of Mathews, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, after a long battle with lung cancer.

Born Oct. 18, 1963 in Great Lakes, Illinois, she was the youngest of six children. She was a true animal lover and enjoyed writing poetry.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Earl Ange, and a daughter, Patty Jean Willett.

Survivors include her son, Jasper Ange; daughters, Monique Robinson, Shanan Robinson, Lashane Robinson, and Glorie King, and nine grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Terry Ange, and sisters, Sharon Hudson, Holly Bassett, Dianne Sherrill and Ginger Hogge.

Services will be conducted at a later date.
