Peninsula Chamber to recognize Charlie and Mari Ann Banks

The Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce will recognize Gloucester residents Charlie and Mari Ann Banks as its 2021 First Citizens Tuesday at the organization’s annual meeting, which will be held on Tuesday in Newport News.

Every year, the couple opens the “party barn” of their White Hall Plantation home for Food from the Heart, a fundraiser to benefit local food pantries. This past August, the event raised more than $3,000 each for the food pantries of St. Therese Roman Catholic, Union Baptist and Susanna Wesley United Methodist churches.

The event will be held at the Holiday Inn Newport News-Hampton, 980 Omni Boulevard, beginning at 11 a.m. The presentation will take place at 11:30.
