PEGGY STUBBLEFIELD JENKINS

Peggy Stubblefield Jenkins, 64, of Hayes, died on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.

Peggy was born May 10, 1951 to Robert Lee and Mildred Robins Stubblefield. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester County.

Peggy was strong-willed, determined and a survivor of breast cancer. She was a lover of books, an avid reader with a library of mysteries and novels that she spent hours reading. She loved the mountains, the wild flowers and trees that grew in the mountains. Peggy was a caring wife, mother, sister and friend devoted to her family, bestowing so much love to her family and friends which will be carried on in the legacy of love which is now each of us—the lives she formed and touched by her love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred Stubblefield, and sister, Gloria Stubblefield.

She is survived by her husband, William “Bill Henry” Jenkins; daughters, Cheryle Rilee and husband Robert, and Jennifer Hogge and husband David; sister, Rebecca Hibbard and husband Francis; brother, Robert Stubblefield and wife Shelly; nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service conducted by the Rev. Carol Bookwalter and the Rev. Edward Harrow was held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Inurnment was private. The family received friends Sunday, April 10, 2016, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
