Peer Recovery Services to hold NAMI fundraiser on July 29 at Beaverdam Park

Peer Recovery Services will hold a National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, at Beaverdam Park’s Whitcomb Lodge in Gloucester.

PRS will serve hot dogs, various side dishes and a small selection of drinks. The group will also have various activities for the whole family to include face-painting, rock-painting and a water balloon race. The event is free and open to the public; donations will be accepted. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP to Pamela Mullins at 804-210-1619 by July 26 with how many people will be in your party so they know how much food to prepare.

Also planned are numerous cake walks during the day with cakes donated by the Peer Recovery Services personnel and other agencies in the county. There will be a one-time $10 entry fee per person for the cake walk; but this will also give you a one-year membership into NAMI.
