Peasley students take part in international competition

Five Peasley Middle School students took part in an international competition for the Future Problem Solvers Program at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on June 7-10.

Rising Peasley eighth grader Victoria King advanced to the event with her first-place win as an individual in scenario writing for the Virginia competition.

At the international event, King was placed on a team with first-place writers Bradley Daniel, a rising 10th grader from Australia, and Luke Watson, a rising ninth grader from West Virginia. Together, the trio won first place in scenario writing at the international level with their story about technology in criminal justice.

The other four Peasley students, rising ninth graders Caroline Merchant, Alex Hogge, Sophia Grover and Lila Saunders, advanced to the international competition with their second-place finish in the state contest. They competed as a team in the global issues problem solving category.
