Peasley students partner with Hudgins couple to benefit GUEST

Peasley Middle School students will be taking advantage of Hudgins residents Wayne and Jennifer Fox’s light show and using its proceeds to help Gloucester’s United Emergency Shelter Team. Though the light show is on each night through the holiday season, proceeds from Friday and Saturday nights from 5:30 to 9:30 will benefit GUEST.

The couple set up the display of over 150,000 lights in an effort to give something back to the community, mainly encouraging visitors to drop off canned goods or cash to benefit local food pantries. However, their granddaughter, Mia Fox, a student at Peasley, thought the show could benefit the homeless in her town as well.

“Mia Fox is in my class and suggested that her family would be willing to take the proceeds from two nights of their light show and donate it to the shelter,” said Mia’s teacher Jennifer Hart.
