Peasley student wins writing contest

Grantland Steele, a student at Peasley Middle School, won first place in the Virginia Writers Club 2010 Golden Nib Writing Contest. Steele took first in the Young Writers division for middle and high school students in the fiction category for his story, "The Ghost of Saint Lilly Scout." He received $50 for his first-place win.

Frank Milligan of Williamsburg won first place in the adult division, fiction category for his story, "Promises to Keep." Milligan is a member of the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the Virginia Writers Club, which includes Gloucester in its member area.
