The Peasley Middle School softball team defeated James Blair Middle School, 21-19, in a come-from-behind victory Monday afternoon in Williamsburg after suffering from a five-run deficit early on.
Pitcher Bella Rice earned the win for Peasley, recording four strikeouts in four innings pitched. Rice also helped get out runners already on base by throwing to Monica Childs at third base and catcher Ryleigh Sparrer at home. Rice also added an RBI for the Peasley Pride.
Payton Edwards was the relief pitcher for Peasley, striking out five batters in two innings. Edwards also had four hits with five at-bats, scored four runs and drove in three RBIs. At bat, Sparrer recorded three RBIs and scored three runs after stealing multiple bases.
In her last road game for Peasley, eighth grader Christy Brewer recorded a hit that scored two runners in the final inning of the game, securing the win for the Pride.
