Pearl Estelle Camechis of Bena, Virginia, passed away on September 16, 2016 at the age of 92.

She was born on October 1, 1923 in Bena, and retired after 30 years from Eastern State Hospital and Francis Sanders Nursing Home. Pearl was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Vick Camechis; her parents, Jack and Pearl Smith; her siblings, John Smith Jr., Joseph Calvin Smith, Fannie M. Jenkins and Grace E. Myers.

She is survived by her sons, James Victor Camechis (Virginia) and Larry Camechis (Cathy); grandson, Travis Camechis (Cherie); great-grandson, Gavin Camechis; brother, Bruce Smith (Judy), and many other relatives and friends. She also leaves her faithful Chihuahua, Trouble.

Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family received friends Monday, September 19, 2016, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
