Pay your poll tax, and vote

It is very desirable that all good citizens vote. On every and all occasions they should register their convictions upon matters under consideration by casting a ballot. Voting is not only a privilege but it is a duty. Instead of growling about the poll tax requirement, cup up like a man and pay it before May 4, which is the last day that you can pay it and save your vote, thereby proving your right to be considered a good citizen,

A loosely played game at the fairgrounds Saturday between Gloucester and Mathews resulted in the third straight victory for the local team by the score of 16 to 7. The Mathews boys showed lack of practice. The local team members were arrayed in their new uniforms for the first time, and they were much admired.
