Route 17 in Gloucester between Davenport and Adner roads is undergoing milling and paving this week. Mobile single-lane closures will be used to control traffic and allow the work to continue, said the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Also this week, lane closures will be in effect in Gloucester at varied times for washing these bridges: Route 616, Roaring Springs Road; Route 17, Main Street between Routes 14 and 17; Route 198, Dutton Road between Freeport Road and New Upton Farms Lane; Route 662, Allmondsville Road between Ark Road and Cappahosic Road; and Route 614, Hickory Fork Road between Haynes Pond Way and Old Hickory Fork Road.

Finally, construction is substantially completed and slated to wrap up this summer on a project to build sidewalk, crosswalks, pedestrian islands, and new crossing equipment at the northern intersection of Rt. 17 and Rt. 17 Business and at Rt. 17 and McFadden Way.
