Pavik named cheerleading coach at Ave Maria University

Deona Pavik, who has served as an office administrator at Mathews High School since 2012 and cheerleading coach since 2013, has been named the head cheerleading coach at Ave Maria University, a Catholic liberal arts institution located in southwestern Florida.

Pavik will also take on an additional role as Assistant to the Athletic Director, Ave Maria’s Director of Athletics John Lamanna announced on Monday.

“Coach Deona Pavik is truly passionate about the Catholic faith and cheerleading. It is with great excitement we welcome Coach Pavik to Ave Maria University,” said Lamanna. “After successfully transforming the cheer program at Mathews High School in Virginia, Coach Pavik will take her vast cheer coaching experience and build the Gyrene cheer program.”
