Pauline P. Callis of Mathews, left this life to go to her heavenly home on March 28, 2018. 

Pauline was born on Oct. 24, 1928, to Benjamin Delmar Preston and Sarah Hudgins Preston in Mathews, Virginia. Pauline enjoyed her home and working with her flowers. She was blessed by her church family at Bethel Methodist Church.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Sarah Preston; her husband, Jimmie Callis, the love of her life; her son, Jay Callis, whom she loved dearly; brother, Albert Preston, and sister, Naomi Preston. Pauline is survived by her cousin’s caregivers, Gary and Joan Roane, and her dear friends.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 2 at Bethel United Methodist Church, Onemo. Visitation was held before the service from 1-2. Interment followed in Pear Tree Cemetery, Onemo.

A special thanks to the Gloucester House caregivers and staff who lovingly cared for her and the New Century Hospice.
