Paul James Kava, 76, of Bohannon, Virginia, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016.

His memorial service was held Dec. 6, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church in Mathews, Virginia.

Paul was born Feb. 17, 1940 and raised in Buffalo, New York, by his parents, Joseph and Irene Kava.

In 1961, he graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University. Paul worked as plant manager at Firestone in Hopewell, Virginia, for the last 10 years of his career. Paul loved to spend time boating, fishing, and tending his oyster farm.

He is survived by his wife Peggy of 53 years; his daughter, Angela; his son, Brian; his son Chris; five grandchildren, Brooks, Tessa, Sarah, Connor, and Abby; his brother, Donald, and numerous nieces, and nephews.
