The Severn Republican Women’s Club has begun acknowledging local businesses and individuals for “displaying the symbol of our great country,” and as its  first honorees are Guy and Cindy Sorensen of Chesapeake Marine Training Institute on Route 17 in Hayes, according to the club’s president Ginny Smith. Smith, at right, and club (and Gloucester County) treasurer Tara Thomas, at left, are shown presenting the certificate to the Sorensens.
