PATRICIA ANN MASSENBURG

Patricia Ann Massenburg, affectionately known as “Pat” or “Sissie,” age 75, of Newport News, Va., was born on January 22, 1951, and departed from this world on Thursday, July 9, 2026, for her heavenly home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Myrtle Massenburg; son, Kenneth Brown, and granddaughter, Brittany Joy Brown.

She was born and raised in Phoebus, Va. She was the middle sister of Brenda “Bennie” Dorsey and Joan “Joanie” Baird. She leaves to carry on her legacy three sons, Tannie Grady Brown III and wife Traci, Kavin Edward Brown, and William Patrick Brown and wife Lanie; two grandchildren, Kayla Brown and Tannie Grady Brown IV; her fiancé, Chuck Doughty, who was such a faithful and loving companion, and two fur babies, Sonny and Collie.

Sissie will be missed and remembered for many things, such as her infectious smile, her genuine concern for others, along with her big-hearted generosity. She had an unsurpassed can-do, will-not-quit determination to get things done.

She was a huge animal lover. We all often joked with her about her missing her calling as a veterinarian because of it.

She was also known as “The Cake Lady” for the many custom-designed cakes that she used to make for so many. She retired from York County Public Schools’ maintenance division after 35 years of service. She has run her race, she has fought the good fight, and she has kept the faith! Rest in Paradise!

We will gather to celebrate and honor her life on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Living Waters Church, 2061 Windsor Road, Dutton, Va. 23050.

Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, is assisting the family.
