Party With a Purpose

Saturday’s Party With a Purpose, a fundraiser to benefit the restoration of the New Point Comfort Overlook, was a big success, according to Susan Murdoch of the Mathews Rotary Club, sponsor of the event. About 350 tickets were sold to the event, which was held at Williams Wharf Landing, raising more than $10,000 for the restoration efforts. Party-goers got a chance to enjoy the music of Good Shot Judy, while On The Flip Side, Gumbeau’s Catering, Doodles Donuts and Short Lane Ice Cream provided treats. Club members hope to make this an annual event, with the “purpose” changing as other community needs crop up.
