Parrott promoted to principal at Abingdon

Abingdon Elementary School assistant principal LaQuiche Parrott was promoted to principal at Abingdon by the Gloucester County School Board in personnel actions taken during its May 14 meeting.

Also, Abingdon teacher Virginia Wilburn was named the assistant principal at Page Middle School and Bethel Elementary School teacher Anna Harwood was named the assistant principal at Botetourt Elementary School. School division human resources director Juanita Smith said the board is expected to consider more school administration changes during its June 23 retreat in Williamsburg.

In other personnel actions, Katherine Staples of Blacksburg, was appointed as the horticulture teacher at Gloucester High School, replacing veteran teacher Harrison Dixon who retired. Appointed to support staff positions were Willie Jackson, James C. Deal, Katrina Jenkins, Amy Heaton and Jennifer Frazier, all of Gloucester and (seasonal temporary) John Register Jr. of White Marsh.
