Parade highlight of weekend holiday activities

There will be plenty of activities for residents to choose from to help them get into the holiday spirit this weekend.

One of the featured events, the 2014 Gloucester Citizens’ Christmas and Holiday Parade is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Saturday from Main Street Center and continue to Botetourt Elementary School. The judges and emcee will be on the lawn of Harry Morris’s Law Office. Awards will be presented immediately after the parade at Morris’s office.

In conjunction with the parade, the Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department will again be coordinating the county’s Holiday Parade Show from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday in the Court Circle.

On Sunday, the Gloucester Main Street Association will sponsor a Christmas Open House along Main Street throughout the day.
