Painting raffle winner

Todd Fisher of Charlottesville was the winner of the Mathews Maritime Foundation drawing for an original John Barber oil painting of the Peggy. Director Peter Hall, at right, is shown presenting Fisher with his painting. The Peggy is the Mathews-built deck boat that recently celebrated her 100th birthday at the Buyboat Rendezvous at Horn Harbor on Sept. 27. Captain Kerry Hall pulled the wining raffle ticket from a barrel of 350 entries. Fisher said he knew of the Peggy from visiting her at the Urbanna Oyster Festival over the past few years. For those who would like a limited edition print of the original painting, they can be found at the Maritime’s gift shop during regular operating hours (Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
