PAGE LAUBACH WARDEN

Page Laubach Warden of Williamsburg, died on April 19, 2017.

She was born in Washington, D.C., on May 2, 1927 to the late Elizabeth Vandegrift (née Withers) and Robert Bruce Warden. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Patricia O. Warden, Elizabeth Warden Boteler, and granddaughter, Catherine D. Amiss. 

Ms. Warden came to Williamsburg in 1951 and was very active in many community affairs. She was also an active member in many social and heredity groups, such as the Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence, Jamestown Society; Martiau Descendants; Susan Constant Branch of NSCD of Virginia, First Families of America, and the Page-Nelson Society.

She also extensively researched her family’s genealogy and published a two-volume history of her family titled “The Kin Patch.” Ms. Warden was a costumed Historic Interpreter for Colonial Williamsburg Foundation from 1962 until her retirement in 1984. During her retirement, she enjoyed wintering on a sailboat in Florida, gardening, reading, knitting, and her many cats. 

Ms. Warden is survived by her children: C. Crissman Laubach III (Ellen), Virginia L. Amiss (Bob), and R. Bruce W. Laubach (Peggy); her grandchildren: F. Justin Laubach, Emily L. Gundert, Claire Laubach (Beth), Sarah L. Farmer (Steven), Robert M. Amiss, Robert B.W. Laubach III, Monica Page Laubach, and Brooke Agee. She was the proud great-grandmother of Thatcher K. Laubach, Nathan E. Farmer, Jacob Driskill-Farmer, Joshua Driskill-Farmer, and Harper Page Amatt; also by several nieces, nephews, and many favorite cousins. 

A memorial service will be held at Abingdon Episcopal Church in Gloucester on June 3, 2017, at 11 a.m., with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
