Owens, Hurst earn Farm Bureau Insurance awards

Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Services has named Kent Owens as State Master Agent of the Year for 2013 and Chris Hurst as first runner-up for the separate sales and production category of State Agent of the Year. Both men work at the Farm Bureau Insurance office at Dutton.

Owens has been “one of our best agents in the state, for nearly 20 years,” said Ray Leonard, vice president of field operations for Farm Bureau Insurance. Leonard praised Owens for ensuring that “his members understand their insurance needs and have the coverages they need.”

Leonard said that Owens was recognized at the recent annual Farm Bureau Insurance sales conference at The Williamsburg Lodge in Williamsburg as second runner-up for Agent of the Year, District 4 (Middle Peninsula/Northern Neck/Peninsula) Most Valuable Agent of the Year and first runner-up Region 2 (eastern and central Virginia) Agent of the Year.
