Out of town activities, but close to home

APPRECIATION DAY: Yorktown Armed Forces Appreciation Day will be held on Saturday, June 12 at the Watermen’s Museum from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Events will occur throughout the whole town to include Revolutionary War, War of 1812, WWI, WWII, and modern military exhibitions.

Saturday, June 19

TOUR: The Military in Yorktown Tour will take place on June 19 from 11 a.m. until noon at the Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters & Petite Café. This walking tour will include Fort Yorktown, the Virginia Militia during the Revolutionary War, the Siege of Yorktown, the Surveyor Battle of 1813, the 2nd Siege of Yorktown during the Civil War, Yorktown’s role in World War I and World War II through present day. The cost is $10 and is free for children under 12 years old. For more information call 757-372-3020.
