Opry’s 49th season begins Saturday

Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry will open its 49th season of country music shows this Saturday with an “All Star Opry” featuring the house band, Shades of Country, and all of the Opry singers.

All shows throughout 2024 will have a continued start time of 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 7. The group will once again be performing at Mathews High School’s 750-seat capacity Harry M. Ward Auditorium.

Ticket prices remain at $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under and can be purchased in advance at the Mathews Visitor and Information Center in Mathews and Marketplace Antiques on Route 17 in Hayes. Tickets are also available at the door on show night, starting at 6:30.

The Opry welcomes young local talent Shane Norris, Hunter Owens and Elijah Clark to its stage for the evening’s performance, as well as Opry singers Tracy Hill, LeighAnn Abbott, A.J.
