Opry to present Tribute to Eagles, Sounds of Summer Saturday

Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry will have a mixed-theme show Saturday, featuring a Tribute to the Eagles and the annual Sounds of Summer concert. The show at Mathews High School’s Harry M. Ward Auditorium begins at 8 p.m.; doors open at 7:30.

After having to postpone a show earlier in the year, these two shows have been put together to make “one unbeatable night of great music,” a release stated.

The show will feature performances by William Earl Sadler, Richard Smith, David Shuber, Sam Hogge, Lynda Smith, Jeff Long, Mike Gregg, Tracy Hill, Ralph Motley, Susan Ripley, LeighAnn Abbott, and special guest Hayden Owens.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. They can be purchased in advance at the Mathews Visitor and Information Center and at Marketplace Antiques in Gloucester. Tickets may also be purchased at the door on show night starting at 7.

The Opry Talent Search 2022 will be held Sept. 17. Interested participants are encouraged to sign up before Aug. 29....
