Emmett Dye of the Susan T-ball squad had the honor of throwing out the first pitch of the Mathews Little League season at a brief ceremony Saturday morning at one of the fields at the Piankatank Ruritan Club grounds in Hudgins. His brother, Earl of the Mathews Blue Minor team, served behind home plate as catcher. The two are the children of coach Zach (in photo at right) and Rachel Dye. This year, the league has approximately 225 players in 19-20 teams, according to MLL president Holt Ripley....
