Alvaro Ibañez and his wife, Denise DeVries, will have their first open house of 2024 from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Surreal Arizona Gallery and A-Ibañez Museum, 199 Whittaker Lane, Kilmarnock. It is free and open to the public.

Featured author Mary Ann Olsen will present her latest novel, “Beach Escape,” in a talk beginning at 3 p.m. She will also talk about and sign her first book, which was about her time as secretary and later executive director of the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival.

Olsen also wrote, produced, and directed six outdoor pageants in poetry. She is currently working on a book of poetry titled “Walking Through Life in Poetry and Special Thoughts.”

Gallery tours start at 2 p.m. After the author presentation, light refreshments will be served.

This will be the couple’s fourth year of hosting author events at the gallery, said a press release.
