One who was helped, makes helping others her mission

“When you feel that kind of love, you want to give it back.”

That’s how Jessica Toro Schlosshan of Port Haywood, sums up her mission to help the members of a community that’s been so generous to her.

Recently, she knew of a woman in need of groceries who had no way of getting to the store and picking them up. Jessica shopped and delivered them, then realized that the woman’s refrigerator was not working. That lady is now receiving a new one.

Just before Christmas, an older lady wanted her Christmas wreaths hung so Jessica’s very supportive husband Kenny did the woman’s outside decorating. Jessica said her bedroom often looks like a storage room, as people bring products to her for distribution.

Another time, she learned of a family whose children needed shoes and it was almost Christmas. With the help of a dear friend and “Shenanigans Buddy” Martha Ann Ashberry (who passed away this past summer), the two provided shoes for all the family along with other items for the chil...
